Can't destroy an environment - no git repository error

When destroying an env, this error shows up: fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories) : .git

When you see this error when destroying an env: 
fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
please make sure you remove the ENV0_IGNORE_STATE = true environment variable.
